First: Read books in my To-Read list on GoodReads. I have over 100 books listed there, many that make me happy when I read the title. I read about 30-40 books a year, so this is a good way to whittle down the list.
Second: Word of the Year: Consistant. My weakness now is being able to make a plan and keep working it. I’ve been experimenting with methods to make and keep things going. I need to recommit to 4 days a week at the gym, accomplishing more during the day, and finding satisfying volunteer work. Plus more work at making social connections.
Third: Trips. I have the start of my birthday trip to Chicago planned. And I’d like to take a train ride to LA, San Diego, or Seattle for some baseball games. These plus a couple weekends to Tahoe may be OK. Or a trip to Utah to catch some of the parks.
Fourth: Have more fun. Movies, museums, dinners out, drinks, ball games. Whatever offers a chance to laugh or enjoy a day.
Edited to add Fifth: Take two things out of the house for every one new thing I bring in. (Excluding groceries and paper supplies). I have enough stuff. I don’t need more. So before I bring more of anything into the house, I’ll take two things out. (And I am so grateful that my books are electronic!). Buy new jeans? Take 2 old pairs of pants out. Buy a kitchen gadget? Get rid of 2 things I don’t use.
